The Kentucky Bourbon Trail reported Thursday that a record 11,757 people visited all six distilleries last year in the tourism-promotion effort, beating the previous mark of 9,402 from 2010. The Kentucky Distillers’ Association, which organizes the trail, said visitors came from all 50 states and 16 countries. “People from all corners of the world are pouring into Kentucky to visit our legendary distilleries and to explore the rich history of Kentucky Bourbon,” KDA President Eric Gregory said in a statement. The trail, created in 1999, includes the Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve distilleries. People who visit all six receive a complimentary T-shirt.
